Kiyinda –Mityana Diocese is the home of the Uganda Martyrs: Noah Mawaggali, Matia Mulumba, Lukka Baanabakintu and Ambrosio Kibuuka because of their historical roots in the area. The Martyrs’ Shrine at  Kiyinda which is also the Cathedral stands out to represent these Martyrs. Without doubt, the roots of faith in Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese are moistened by the blood of the four Martyrs and inspired by the solidarity and community spirit of the first faith community in the area (Abaseekimu) emulating the Christian community in the Acts of Apostles. (Acts 4:46b).
